I Love people, I especially like how they treat the disabled. For the most part, everyone seems to be compassionate. I have never had a negative experience since I have been an amputee,
I enjoy driving, cooking for more than myself (love the holidays) Like all the old b/w movies, My taste in music is very deversifiwd....Love the DooWops, Sinatra, Nat king Cole. Also love C&W, Jazz, Classical....However...Rap, HipHop has to go LOL
I used to be a good dancer and I look forward to that again.
I'm too old to be too adventurous, but will do my best at
the things I enjoyed.
I am a sports fan. Enjoy Football, soccer, baseball (NY YANKEES of course, (just learning about Hockey).
I am crazy about animals (both wild and domestic) I have the smartest Toy Poodle ever! Thats it for now dont want you dozing lol. See you in the forums

Hugz & Warm Fuzzies to all from a newbie

Hi Kater :D Welcome, welcome..... I am also a RBK Amputee, since 8/01. was doing just great the first 2 years then I developed a bad infection and was put into a wheelchair. felt like my life was over....I couldn't keep up with many of my friends and lost most of my family in that third year. So like you, I basically stayed confined in my apartment. I was 53 when I lost my leg and newly widowed. You are very lucky to have found this site so soon, it wont be long until everything changes for you. You are no longer alone, There are so many services, support groups and people to talk with here. Hang in there and feel free to contact me if you ever need to "talk". Take care and welcome Pattilyn :)

    FLIP FLOPS

:D Isn't it amazing how we just keep learning and inventing , as amps....They say that necessity is the mother of invention....How true it had been proven, right here Thank you all Pattilyn :D
  12. I felt that way in the beginning... However, after 5 years I am confident thar I am simply "Physically Challenged" I was doing fine until a bad infection put me in a w/c for 2 1/2 yrs. Now I am out of rehab and first understand the "challenge" as it is much more fun.... Now I know how "Rocky" felt! Pattilyn

    More prosthetic etiquette

:D Well ,I for one think ir was hysterical..... It might have been more fun if it were sticking out of your baggage. LOL Now you are making me think...... I may just go out next time with my spare resting its foot on the dashboard ... on the drivers side ROFL (I love watching the surprised looks on peoples faces when all they would see is the leg Pattilyn
  14. My leg was amputated by ba Vascular Surgeon. He did a wonderful job. I still go to him today. He keeps a close watch on my other leg, as I have a condition known as Charcot's joint. Funny thing, I lost my good leg to an ulcer that caused Osteomyelitus. (I am diabetic) However, like Sparky, I had usual surgery pain, but that is it. Five years now, no scar, no breakdown and a darn "pretty" stump LOL. He took my leg in 2 surgeries due to the osteo (1st the foot, then 1 wk later the lower leg.) I am a rbk and have a decent size stump with no pain) Pattilyn :D
