Hi Eddie Just made a rare visit don't come on here very often now nice to hear from you again we are a couple of the old members on here. I joined somewhere near the beginning when this forum first started one of the first 30 to join we were posting all the while just to keep the forum going we somtimes run out of thing's to say but now plenty of members. It still seems a good site to join. Well that's my visit over for a little while. Nice to still be a member and to see some good posting's good luck to you all. Pat

Hi Each time I have flown I have no trouble and I am in my wheelchair with my leg on I just tell them about my leg and they have me put my arm's in the air and just go over me with a wand. But sometimes the wheelchair is push through and no alarm goes off. My husband walks through with loose Chang in is pocket and all hell is let loose. Just the luck of the draw. Pat
  11. Hi This forum is as Muz as said for the help of Amputee's and those concerned with Amputee's not an appreciation society. There are enough site's praising Paul & Heather with out using this one for support of the two named people. We are gratful for this site but as I said it's purely for Amputees and people that wish to help Amputee's. I endorse what Muz as said. Pat.
  12. Hi Does anybody know if this show with Heather dancing is shown in the UK. If do you know which channel?. If you could help please could you let me know as I would like to watch it. Pat.
  13. Hi For someone who said they don't want any publicity she seems to be on nearly every chat show. You can make your life more private if you try. But I hope Heather does well at the dancing. Pat

    American Idol Comment Demeaning Amputees

Hi Where as all the fun gone from this forum?. I have been a member over 4 years and thing's seem to be getting very serious with debates now. If we are offended by what someone may say then I think it's about time I left. We as Amputee's have to put up with a lot but I always try to see the funny side of thing's and in my case 2 Amputation in 28 day's was enough for me to see thing's that are important in life rather than make a fuss over a comment made on TV. Pat.

Hi Wouldn't this idea be better to be organized through a group like step's that already have a back ground of organising event's like this.? As much as I can agree that it would be nice to meet some of the people I have made friends with on this forum it might a let down if only a few turned up for a conference. I think this would have to be a long term thinking matter before it happened. Pat.
  17. Hi I don't seem to know many of the people on here now apart from Cat and a few others. No Muz and a lot of the one's that were always posting I see Cat as been promoted well done. I have seen a few changes some for the good and some not so good I was in the first few to join my membership number is in the low 30's without members like Muz the place don't seem the same no Eddie also the change in moderators we lost one of the best one's we had that young lady helped Lot's of people including myself shame she had to go. Then there was the two boy's M&M they helped to keep this site happy make some day's made us feel bright when we were not. Anyway I have had my say I will still visit every so often but it's not like it was a few month's ago. Best wishes Pat.

Where R All the old member's?.

Hi When I started this thread I didnt know what response I would get it's certainly surprised me how much response it got and mainly for the better. When I said that some of our friends were not posting and some had left under a veil of mystery I was hoping some would come back and they have. I only hope that a particular young lady who was a moderator will also come back one day. It's nice to see your comment's and I hope this forum goes from strength to strength. So may I wish you all a very happy New Year and may next year bring better times for you all. Best wishes Pat.

    What's your favourite Christmas song?

Hi Roy Wood (Wizard). I wish it could be Christmas every Day. Pat.
  20. Hi Who knows what the truth is about all these stories the photo's that were taken a few years ago must have been known about by the people concerned in publishing them it's just at this moment that they have become newsworthy. I try not to judge people solely on there past some people Chang for the better later in life. We should wait and see what the outcome is before we make our judgment Pat.

Where R All the old member's?.

Hi Well this thread as brought some of the people that have been missing from this forum out again that's a good thing. But it's wrong to infer that they are squabbling it's that they are stating there opinions for not always posting let's all get back to posting when we think we having something that might be of use to help other's or we think of something funny then let's share it with each other. Thanks Nestudas for your PM. nice to hear from you I will get back in touch. So may I wish every member a Merry Christmas and may we all stay friends and go back to how we were before these little misunderstanding. Remember we all have our own thoughts and some we must keep to ourselves. Good luck to new and old members. Nice to see you back Muz and all the other member's that have come back. Best wishes Pat.

Hi At my local limb centre there was a man in a wheelchair no leg's handcuffed to a prison officer waiting to go in for a check up his Prosthetic;s were in a plastic bag. If he wore them in prison I dont know but this guy was smiling at everybody and looking at his hand cuff's and laughing he was very friendly but he wasn't allowed to talk to anybody and when somebody spoke to him the officer moved him to the other end of the room. This guy had no chance of getting away. Pat.

    Hi Back from Bulgaria.

Just got back from Bulgaria. Had a nice time,Now I know I dont have a lot to moan about the welfare in the the UK. After seeing how some of the amputee's live over there. No drop kerb's very high kerb's and pavement uneven where there are pavement's (Walk way's) Airport's poor, standing outside waiting to get into departure lounge for 2 hrs same in arrivals. But would not have missed our experience. Talk later when unpacked,Nice to be back and catch up on New's on this site. It's still the best one for Amputee's. Pat.

    Hi Back from Bulgaria.

Hi Stephen. We stayed Sunny beach for two week's it's a nice place. The hotel we were at was very good we stayed in a disable friendly room roll in shower grab rail's high toilet etc wide door's as I am most of the time in my wheelchair I am AKA. Only thing Burgas Airport very poor long Wait's going in and coming out of Bulgaria. Airport staff not very friendly get over that and we had a good time in Bulgaria. All designer gear very cheap we went full inclusive did not need to spend much at all we were a family of 9 4 adult's and 5 children, children from 5 to 14 they were catered for. No drop kerb's pavement very poor but getting better so we were told. When you go into the resort sunny beach you go through check point only people living there and holiday maker's and people with work permit's can get past the check point's we were told that was to keep undesirables out of the resort as there is a like of crime in Bulgaria we felt safe there just dont go off the beaten track. Weather very good just right for the time we were there. Stephen if you want to know more send me a PM. Kind regards Pat.
