  1. Dear All - Please see the below about a research project at Roehampton University, London. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks Matt DETAILS OF RESEARCH PROJECT ---Lower limb amputee participants needed--- We are looking for ambulant trans-tibial amputees for research in the Centre for Scientific and Cultural Research in Sport and the Sport Performance and Rehabilitation Centre, Roehampton University. http://www.roehampton.ac.uk/researchcentres/cscrs/ Project 1 One study is trying to establish why some amputees are prone to falling while turning. Your gait will be analysed in walking and turning. This test will take about 1 hour and you will receive a gait report at the end of the study. Project 2 The second study requires active amputees and is looking at jumping. The aim is to assess how amputees move with a view to developing exercise programmes. The results of this study will be used to benefit amputees involvement in sporting activities. You will receive fitness advice at the end of the study. This test will take about 1 hour. If both tests are completed together, the total time is about 1hr30mins. For further advice and detailed information on either of the research projects, please contact: Dr Siobhan Strike s.strike@roehampton.ac.uk 020 8392 3546 Many Thanks!

    amputee and exercise conference

Thanks for posting on the LA. I must say though that the LA have been very helpful with distrabuting a questionnaire about exercise to its members. So with out them the study could not have been carried out. matt
