  1. Locking Liner?

Where is the best place to buy a locking liner? I need a Upper-X size 18.
  2. Updated Pic.

This is at the Breaks Park in VA. Very nice place to visit.
  3. Partners dealing with it

    Nope, I married again. <_<
  4. Partners dealing with it

In my opinion he should accept you for who you are. I have been an upper extremity amputee (whish is impossible to cover up) since I was 18 years old, over 10 years ago. I have never met someone that had a problem with it and never had a problem getting dates. Hope this helps!!!
  5. Updated Pic.

    I usually sleep about 5 hours a night. :(
  6. Updated Pic.

Basically thats what it is, a big national Treasure Hunt. I love it. I get plently of exercise plus it helps take my mind off all my problems. Its just hard to find time to do it because of 3 jobs plus weight lifting and running on the treadmill every day. :(
  7. Updated Pic.

    LOL Very True!!!!! :D
  8. Updated Pic.

  9. Nerve Cutting!!!

Thanks for all the replies. I'm feeling much better now. I have phantom pain 24 hours a day, sometimes it is unbearable and sometimes I hardly notice it. I have already canceled two appointments to have a revision surgery to have the nerve endings removed. I just can’t bring myself to do it yet. I won’t take medicine for the pain because of my job. Maybe someday when I have more free time I’ll have the revision. Thanks again for all the replies… Lefty
  10. Nerve Cutting!!!

Has anyone had there nerves cut because they are balling up inside them. My Dr. told me that was my problem. Phantom limb pain getting much worse. :( I have slept a total of 12 hours since Sunday night. I think I have worn my TENS unit out. Not getting any sleep is killing me, Work all day then stay up all night wired up to a TENS unit!!!! All opinions appreciated.
  11. Unexpected Limb Movement?

As some of you know, I am an upper extremity amputee. Sometimes when I’m just on the verge of going to sleep my arm will unexpectedly jump or twitch. Well, last night my wife and I were lying in bed facing each other as I was just about asleep when it happened. My arm for some reason jumped and I hit her perfectly in the eye. I know she has a black eye this morning. I felt so bad that I done that to her. After her pain subsided she thought it was hilarious. It’s a good thing that I wasn’t wearing my hook. I'm sorry baby!!!
  12. Unexpected Limb Movement?

Does anyone have unexpected twitching or movement from there residual limb? (My wife is mad at me, I’ll tell the story later.)
  13. Becoming Normal Again

Hi Eddie Earlier this year was my 10 year anniversary. I can say things have gotten better over the years, but for me just looking in a mirror is a constant reminder that I’m not like everyone else, which is a blessing and a curse. As a matter of fact, I’m not like most people on this board. I am an upper extremity amputee. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m not complaining. I can do almost everything other people can do. I love the way I am and I am very proud to represent amputees. I love showing people what all I can do. Most people are amazed, especially kids they love playing with my hook. But I still have my bad days just like everyone else. I’ve had phantom pain for over 10 years now and that in its self takes a toll on a person. Also this year I ran into my first major act of what I think is discrimination which set me back a long way, but that’s a different story. All in all things have gotten much better, and continue to get better every day. I have accepted the person I have become and I am striving to be a better person every day. And yes winter time is rough on everyone. I hate setting inside with nothing to do in the evenings. I have started staying at work longer so I won’t have to set at home being board. Hopefully things will get better for you also. Hang in there, better days are coming.
