  1. Another year nearly over

    Mick, that was sooo beautiful!
  2. Reading some posts and wondering how you're doing with the support group. The Amputee Coaltion can be a great resource with support groups. If you haven't already tried it, that would probably be your best bet. Lots of luck.
  3. hadrians wall

I have recently been using the Elan foot and it makes a huge difference walking on slopes, uneven ground, etc. Spent a day at Jazz Fest in New Orleans, after it had rained unbelieveably the day before and morning of. I'm talking mud, mud that sucks you in. And since it's held at the Fairgrounds where the horses race, it has a very distinctive odor. But I did it. 2 days in a row. Don't know how I didn't bust my butt but I really think the foot helped. I must add, that I was very sore for a couple of days. I guess the bottom line being, I did it. We can do whatever we set our minds to. Someway, somehow. Yes?
  4. Good to be back

Welcome back everyone! So Sorry to hear you are still not set, Lynne. Looking forward to hearing your story.
  5. I love my vac system. Can't image it taking 15 minutes to get on. Some monistat gel on the limb, spray some alcohol in the liner and voila, it's on. And it doesn't make any noise.
  6. FREMINGTON EDGE

    That was beautiful!
  7. I wasn't taught to use crutches due to issues with my "good" foot, which I almost lost, and not able to put weight on it for 10 months after amputation. So here I am, almost 10 yrs later, using my wheelchair when I take my leg off. I'm rbk. I get really irritated at myself for not using crutches instead of the wheelchair, but it's what I know. It's what I'm comfortable with. Then sometimes I think, well, you're not likely to fall out of the wheelchair! And I only use it maybe an hour a day. Guess I need to get over it. But sometimes I feel inferior to those who can use crutches.

I use antibacterial hand soap. Walmart brand works just fine.
  12. Microprocessor feet

Right, my other foot is an Echelon. Am currently using a Catalyst and like it very much. I always liked the Echelon too. Still use it sometimes. It's covered My leg guy showed me an Elan and I did a little reading about it but would like to hear from someone who's wearing it or has tried it. Looks pretty interesting.
