JohnnyV 14 Report post Posted November 17, 2004 Model becomes first amputee Playboy centrefold!: [World News]: Washington, Nov 17 : It can well prove to a small step for Playboy, but a giant leap for mankind. According to New York Daily News, the 25-year-old amputee model Jennifer Krum feels she will send a strong message to all the girls like her when she reveals all for a playboy.com pictorial tomorrow, during a photo shoot in Chicago. Krum, who lost her left hand and forearm in a car accident when she was four - was discovered by the magazine after she won Howard Stern's "Miss Amputee 2004" contest last week. "If I was an able-bodied, all-of-my-limbs girl, I don't know if I'd do it...I'm doing it mainly because I want to send the message to people who are amputees, or have issues with confidence or don't find themselves attractive or sexy - that you can be attractive or sexy, even if you're an amputee," she said. "They heard the broadcast and called Howard after they saw my pictures online. It says a lot about Playboy," she added. "They're sending a huge, positive message. They're saying they don't mind. It's a completely awesome thing around for everyone involved." Yesterday, Playboy.com's editor in chief, John D. Thomas, told Lowdown: "She's a very attractive woman. We would not be taking the pictures if she weren't. (ANI)

Sanicki 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2004 Ok people get those minds out of the gutter!!!!! How pathtic am I????? I didn't even notice the guy with the mike! Looking to the right, the other guy is holding her arm! According to the article they spanked her with her own arm. Just thought I'd point that out to you guys, before you'd start making worse assumptions about what he was holding. ;) Linda

Afet 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2004 Oh, and being spanked with her own prosthetic arm, no less? How degrading is that?? I'm surprised she didn't chuck her arm at them when they suggested that!
marianne 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2004 Hmmm , i wonder , why did we not se an beautifull gurl amp runner who made the COVER of RUNNER magasine ? I'm sorry but it's about time that we women are thinked of as someethi gother than bimmbo's and brainless twats who as a last act of desperation sell thier bodies to give most men thee only thing they seem to understand , or not . Kaz , Afet and all others who feel the same way but have not saioded anything yet , than ks for the support . Sheila 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2004 I'm sure if it has anything to do with Howard Sterns, they'll find a way to make it trashy!! I've never seen anyone enjoy putting women down, more than that pathetic example of a man, just my personal opinion. She's a nice looking girl, but shouldn't be allowing herself to be exploited like that either, is how I see it. Sheila lbk Maine USA Keep Smiling :)

Muz 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2004 Hmm, MJ, Kaz etc you're probably right about this so sorry if my reply earlier was a little flippant. By the way she's not that pretty either - typical model, skinny blonde and make up to disguise an otherwise bland face. Now for the tricky question. If she has nothing else going for her (just guessing here) would you deny her the chance to pay for her medical bills on the principal that she's sending out the wrong message? marianne 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2004 MUZ , you saided in part : " ... Now for the tricky question. If she has nothing else going for her (just guessing here) would you deny her the chance to pay for her medical bills on the principal that she's sending out the wrong message? ... " So , is it being suggested then then selling your body for money is OK ? Hmmm , I wonder theen , what is the3 difference then betwenn this type of money making thingie and becomeing a prostitute ? But , forget about the money for a second . tell me , you see this gurl walking down the street one day and tgell me honestly , what is your foirst thought goiung to be ? I would suggest that there is a rather high degree of probobility that that you will not ask her about soemmath or scinece qwuestion . And , where will you be looking FIRST anyway ? So is she sending the wrong message as yoiu asked based on your suggested thingie ? YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES . There is NO AMOUNT of money that is worth more than ones deiginity , self worth and self respect . If you put a price on that , what else are you willing to " sell " ? Sanicki 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2004 Hi, Ok Johnny brought it up, but I'm responsible for the picture. So give the devil her due here & let me say something. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. No one was trying to offend or ask for judegment about Playboy centerfolds. When I went On Howard Stern's site, the article was that she heard about the amputee competition. She CHOSE to participate. Being that it was Howard Stern, you know it's going to be rauncy & degrading. Nonetheless, she chose to participate. The outcome of putting up with his antics was getting an offer to do a layout in Playboy. She hopes that through the magazine she will be able to make other women, or young girls, feel as though they can be accepted as beautiful, no matter if they have a disability. She lost her arm at the age of 5. So did she degrade women, did she disgrace amputees by agreeing to be spanked with her own prosthetic arm, is she going to hell for participating in pornography???? Who knows & more importantly who cares? It was her choice to do it & we who do not want to be judged shouldn't judge someone else. Johnny posted the topic because there was going to be an amputee in Playboy. Like it or not it is news. She chose to do it, you chose to find it degrading. You've both made a choice. You're even. bobxuk 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2004 Hi, I have been a member of this forum for some time, originally joining on behalf of a very close friend who did not have access to the net, but now sadly is no longer with us. I have remained a member, finding some of the topics both interesting and informative, but to date have not felt either qualified or the need to respond. However regarding this thread I would like to say that I am in 100% agreement with Linda. The greatest assett we have at our disposal is choosing to be involved or otherwise in events taking place in the world around us, that is providing they are legal!!. Interestingly there were reports in the UK media a few years ago of 'Playboy' featuring a paraplegic model, all of which were positive and praising the furthur integration of disabled people into a world that still sadly lacks a breadth of mind on this issue. I would wish this particular lady the very best. I see in reports on the net that she is already a neophyte model and branching out in this direction should be seen as a part of her career development. Finally there was as I remember a thread on this site about Amy Purdey, which said she was taking advantage of being an amputee to star in a film. I don't remember this getting any criticism. Each to their own but please remember it's a big real world out there. Bob. (waiting for the flak).
Brenda 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2004 The only thing I have to say is that if she ever is on Miss america and wins she won't be able to wear the crown b/c of this. She did make the choice but was it the right one? My opinion is she had a choice and that was her choice weither I agree or not. I do love that picture of Sarah on the cover of Runners world she is a very nice person (I've met her a few times) and she is an inspiration.
June 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2004 I'm straight, but personally I find the picture of Sarah far more of a turn on than the other girl at the top and I think Martin would think the same!
