Ally 9 Report post Posted November 18, 2005 Absolutely agree with you Muz - wouldn't matter how many bodies you had to get over to get there (especially if you go with other amps who topple over). :P Fabulous!

JohnnyV 14 Report post Posted November 22, 2005 Thanks for sharing that Ally! I have seen one other interesting high tech motorized chair, http://www.independencenow.com/ibot/ but it was not a rough terrain vehicle like this one.
Ally 9 Report post Posted November 22, 2005 Wow - we are getting so fancy. I kinda fancy the feature of 'getting up there' to an AB's eye level. That is one of the things that really bothers w/c bound people. But it's so heavy! I guess you would have to wheel everywhere - getting it into a car would be a bit of a problem. But hell - it looks like such a fun thing, who cares? Thanks Ally :D
mmarie 13 Report post Posted November 23, 2005 I don't think you'd need to worry about getting the 4x4 into the car, Ally. I think you would just run right over it :o

Kep 5 Report post Posted November 24, 2005 Hey yall, I emailed the maker of the Tank Chair inquiring about the cost. Below is his reply: "Thank you for your interest in Tankchair. I am not building anymore right now as I am working on a new one that will make my first one obsolete. I don't want to take anyone's money and tell them it what they are buying will be second class in six months. My new chair will be self-leveling and will be able to carry a payload to 500lbs. (227 kilos) It will also be able go indoors and fit in the 40"x30" ADA envelope. I will keep your E-mail on file and mail you once the chair is done. Thank you and keep watching our web page for the new Tankchair." I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer for "sticker shock". :o Kep B)
