Recommended Posts

hi people

the whole family went on vacation to france,

really a great time, i feel revived!

next week the actual fitting takes place for my first legs!

i'm really excited

and within two weeks i will visit my first rock festival since the operations!

hoping for no rain, so my wheelchair wil not be stuck in the mud

to make a long story short

i'm back!

Glad to hear it, Sarah! Sounds like you had a fine time!

I'll be sending "dry" thoughts your way for the festival... I once tried to make it around a large and muddy park in my chair for a flower-viewing... the chair bogged down soooo many times, and more than once the friend who was pushing me had to recruit bystanders to lift it out of deep mud! Next time I decide to do something like that, I'm going to be VERY happy to be able to use my new leg!

Sarah

Now you've got it!! :D :D

There will be plenty of ups and downs, but let me guarantee that the "UP's" will seriously overshadow the "down's". Our adopted daughter has the same first name.

Let us know how the fitting and concert go.

Welcome back

Gil Davis ;)

I think it is extremely normal to feel that way. I "lost" my leg to cancer at 15. Over the years, I went through many spells where I was emabarrased, sad, mad, etc. over the condition I was in. I'm soon to be 38 and now those spells have faded with time. Hopefully the same will happen to you. It helps to have a good support group of family and friends. Hopefully you have that. If not, always feel free to vent here. Big hugs to you!

The key to everyday lifes ups and downs is try not to dwell on the downs.. Or be full of self pity.. Look for the good in everything.. It is not that easy. But one can't dwell on the "what ifs" and fell sorry for them selfs." No Poor me" allowed! ;)
