Hi all,

I was born in London , Dec. 1938,

I was never sure if the World war 2 started because I was born,

or whether I was born because World war 2 started.???????????

Either way I am very Happy it happened.

Muz, I think you'll find it was the 3rd September 1939. The 3rd September also happens to be my wedding anniversary...of course (before you ask) I wasn't married in 1939! :P

My apologies Lizzie. Just checked another scource as well as my original one and it was indeed 3 September. I must have confused it with the date that Poland was invaded leading to the declaration of war 2 days later

And I wasn't married in 1939 either, it took another 20 years and one month before I was even born :P

It's the cynic in me :) that and the fact I'd had to look up the information in the first place, made me wonder how I'd got it wrong  (Just for the record I'm not a complete dunce I knew the month and the year it's just days I have a problem remembering  :P  )

Hi guys,

my name is Mike. I have now been living in this small provincial German

town of Kusel (around 5.300 inhabitants) in the south western State of

Rhineland-Palatinate for 26 years.

American servicemen will know the nearest major city of Kaiserslautern, aka

K-Town, the US Airforce Airbase at Ramstein, the Military Hospital at Landstuhl

and the Baumholder Training Area and Firing Range.

I was born and bred in the city of Krefeld, near Düsseldorf and close to the Dutch

border, once renowned for its textile (silk) industry.

Used to be home to HM Coldstream Guards for a couple of years in the 50s,

was later garrisoned by 16th Signal Regiment, Royal Signals.

Kind regards,

Mike RHD

hello,

I'm from a small town called Glossop, in the peak district of England. It's also called the 'gateway to the peak'.

Hey John, Mike and Dragon, we're all from a similar neck of the woods!!

:D John... I ride over Snake pass all the time, sorry you got hit there, seems to be quite a black spot for bikers (+ woodhead road). :(
