Hi Everyone

After your op, were you given a diet sheet to build yourself-up?

My right leg before it was removed was losing muscle above as well as below the knee.

After the op I was worried that the stump would not be strong enough to 'take' the prosthesis so I did a lot of 'stump' exercises and made up my own diet of 60% protein, 40% carbs. I did this consciously for about 6 months, and have 'got' back muscle in my stump. I checked with the Limb clinic people and also a dietician and they thought it was ok. Although I'm not sure they had come across this question before.

It was just something I thought of.
