MSNBC.com and Amputee Coalition of America Haiti Project

Recommended Posts

Dear Amputee Coalition of America Supporter,

In an effort to help recent amputees in Haiti, the Amputee Coalition of America is excited to announce a joint project with MSNBC.com. To do this, we would appreciate your valuable assistance and life experience. Your stories, words and wisdom for the new amputees are very important. Though our cultures are very different, your own personal story of hope may make a difference in the life of another.

Today, March 19, MSNBC.com began posting interviews and essays from our members. MSNBC would like to open a dialogue between U.S. amputees and amputee patients in Haiti. This project, "Building A Life Worth Living," encourages you to post your own story. These will be translated into Kreyol (Haitian Creole) by MSNBC and shared with those in Haiti. You can read other amputees’ interviews and essays at http://haitiamputees.msnbc.msn.com.

You can post your own essays at http://haitiamputees.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2...-haiti#comments.

Specifically, MSNBC is looking for words of wisdom from you and how you have adjusted "emotionally, physically and practically." As a support group member, Volunteer Outreach Team member or an ACA-certified peer visitor, you may want to mention your work with the Amputee Coalition of America and how it has affected you and others you serve.

This is an exciting project. We hope you will be able to share your stories of hope, recovery and resilience with those in Haiti.
