Dear HMM Amputee Forum,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your contribution to making this one of the best resources for the amputee community online, through your participation.

We have grown to such an incredible size of close to 700 members in less than 18 months, making it very challenging for me to admin and moderate on my own. Thus, I have enlisted some of our fellow active members to assist me in the over all running of the forum. With the help of my Moderating Team, I am able to make the forum safer and secure in which we can all feel comfortable in. So I would like to thank Afet, Brenda, Caroln, doggie, Lark and LauraG for joining my moderating team. They have already been a huge help for which I am extremely grateful.

Regretfully, I have been made aware of security concerns that has necessitated that a policy be established and put in place on the forum. The policy provides the teeth to eliminate dishonest activity by addressing what is unacceptable. If any of the unacceptable behavior fits into a practice that you feel responsible for doing on the forum, you have 48 hours to make it known to me and that you will cease such activity on the forum. After the 48-hour period is up, I will be banning any membership with questionable activity and requesting validation of identity for the determination of continued membership. I take a great deal of pride in the compliments that I still receive about our forum, that we have all grown to love and trust as a safe place, and I along with the moderating team will work very hard to continue to keep it a safe place. The Internet is a place where some individuals try to hide behind, and use for their own pleasure or their own questionable reasons, without taking into account, that they are hurting other people in the process. I ask that we all be aware of this type of person on our forum, and not let this dark side effect the brightness that we have brought to so many on our forum, and wish to continue to do so.

Thank you for your attention in this matter.

The Moderating Team
